How to use
- Enter the original price.
- Enter the discount percentage.
- Optionally enter your cost per unit to check profit.
Worked example
An item priced TZS 45,000 with a 15% discount: saving = TZS 6,750, final price = TZS 38,250. If it cost you TZS 30,000, profit after discount is TZS 8,250.
How it works
Saving = Price × Discount ÷ 100. Final price = Price − Saving. Profit after discount = Final price − Cost.
Limitations
Two discounts in a row (for example 10% then 10%) are not the same as 20%. Apply them one at a time.
Frequently asked questions
Is 10% + 10% the same as 20% off?
No. 10% then another 10% equals 19% off the original price.
Does this include VAT?
It uses the price you enter. If your price includes VAT, the result does too.
